Four Main thing, cause protracted conflict in West Papua
JAKARTA Onews-Conflictin Papuaasendless.In addition tohorizontalconflictsamongcivilians,vertical conflictthat occurredbetweenthe Indonesian government andthe Papuan peoplehave alsoclaimed many victims.
Until nowthere is nogood intentionsofthe Governmenttofind the best solutionto endthe conflict inPapua,the governmentdoes not seem seriousandprotractedconflictallowed.
According to theDeputyChairman ofCommission I,TubagusHasanuddin,protracted conflictis causedby fourthings.
"First,the failure ofspecial autonomy, especiallythe development inthe field ofeconomic welfare, healthandeducation," he saidin a discussion titled'Papua:ConflictFromTime to Time',inBakoelCoffe,Cikini, Central Jakarta, Wednesday(27/03/2013).
Second, addedHasanuddin,conflictscaused by thediscriminationandmarginalization ofindigenous Papuans.
"Third,thetraumaticfeelingsofsome residentsas a resultof Papuacrackdownof the past,which is categorizedas a violation ofhuman rights,butnot fully investigatedthoroughly."
"Andlast,stillthere are differencesof perceptionabout theintegration ofPapua into theRepublic of Indonesiathrough theAct of1969," he said.
