Social Media Internship for Human Rights Campaign (Vancouver)
Pacific Peoples Partnership is seeking a social media coordinator for an international cycling and human rights campaign!
Pacific Peoples' Partnership is a Canadian non-governmental organization
and registered charity that since 1975 has worked with Indigenous and
civil society partners across the Small Island Developing States of the
South Pacific (Melanesia, Polynesia and Micronesia) and First Nations
across Canada on rights-based sustainable development initiatives that
enable communities to harness their own creativity to address poverty,
environmental degradation and loss of culture
Pedalling for Papua is a 6 month international bicycling and performance
tour that seeks to raise the international profile of West Papua, a
region which has been subjected to 50 years of what many commentators
describe as genocide. Home to the world's greatest underwater
biodiversity, oldest indigenous tribes, and one of the largest jungles, a
media blackout has kept the beauty and conflict in this region off the
radar of the international community for too long. Pedalling for Papua
aims to undermine this through bicycle touring a multimedia performance
which carries the voice of West Papuans to the forefront through
animation, shadow puppetry, spoken word and music.
Pacific Peoples' Partnership is based in Victoria, BC. We are posting
for this position in major cities across Canada because the
responsibilities can be handled remotely, and we want to make sure we
bring the best possible candidate on board.

success will be based on results rather than time allotted. The
